VOICE OVER IP SERVICE Skype has released a preview to its updated Skype for Windows Phone app, which is available to Windows Phone 8 users in the Windows Phone store.
Skype said in a blog post on Wednesday that the update focused on "improving reliability and performance of the application, especially around background notifications and calling".
Additionally, Skype has fixed a number of issues from the previous released app, including improved reliability of chat and call notifications when the app is closed and a fix so that chat messages now appear in correct order, by timestamp.
"We have also temporarily disabled the People Hub integration as it was causing issues with device stability," Skype said in the post.
"We are working with the Windows Phone team to resolve the issue and to enable the integration again in a future release."
Skype said the upgrade is available through the Windows Phone Store and has asked users for feedback on the Skype Support Network to help improve its development. µ
