Three starts selling the Google Nexus 4

THE ANDROID 4.2 JELLY BEAN powered Google Nexus 4 is now available to buy in the UK via Three, although you might not be too keen on the mobile operator's pricing.

We've praised Google for its Nexus 4 pricing strategy, with the 8GB and 16GB models fetching just £239 and £279, respectively. However, it seems that Three - much like O2 - isn't too keen on Google's budget pricing, as it started selling the LG built smartphone today on its £35 One Plan.

This means that if you buy the phone via Three, it will cost you £869 in total, thanks to the £29 upfront cost the network has also slapped on to the handset. The mobile operator isn't offering the Google Nexus 4 on any of its cheaper tariffs either, and it's not available on pay as you go.

One good thing about Three's £35 tariff is the allowances you'll get with the phone. This contract comes with 2,000 minutes, 5,000 Three-to-Three minutes, 5,000 texts and unlimited monthly data.

Our whinging doesn't mean you're not getting a good smartphone for the money, either, as the Nexus 4 rivals the Samsung Galaxy S3 with its specifications.

It features a 4.7in HD touchscreen, a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and the latest version of Google's mobile operating system, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. It also has an 8MP rear-facing camera with HD 1080p video, a 1.3MP front-facing camera, a 2,100mAh battery and 3G and WiFi connectivity. µ
