KOREAN PHONE MAKER Samsung's Ativ S smartphone is now available to preorder on O2.
That's courtesy of UK retailer Phones 4U, which has started taking orders for the Windows Phone 8 handset on contracts with O2. The network's pricing is slightly cheaper than rival Vodafone's, as the Ativ S is available on O2 for free on a 24 month £33 tariff, complete with 300 minutes, unlimited texts and 500MB of monthly data.
Phones 4U seems to have debunked rumours that the Samsung Ativ S has been further delayed until January 2013, promising delivery of the smartphone on 21 December.
If you're interested but not yet sold on the Samsung Ativ S, maybe its specifications will help you decide. The phone, which sports a design similar to the Samsung Galaxy S2, features a 4.8in touchscreen, a 1.5GHz dual-core processor and Microsoft's Windows Phone 8 mobile operating system that gives the phone Xbox Live gaming, Nokia Maps and Microsoft Office.
The phone also comes with an 8MP rear-facing camera, a 1.9MP front-facing camera, a 2,300mAh battery and either 16GB or 32GB of internal storage, which can be expanded via microSD card. µ
