MIDRANGE SMARTPHONE the HTC One SV is already up for preorder in the UK, moments after it was first announced.
Revealing that the handset won't be exclusively available on EE, Unlocked Mobiles has started taking orders for the 4G phone. It's cheaper than we were expecting at £329.98 SIM-free, as we witness HTC take a leaf out of Google's book.
According to the website, the HTC One SV won't start shipping until 2 January, so don't expect to get the smartphone in time for Christmas.
Unveiled this morning, the HTC One SV is HTC's second 4G phone bound for the UK, following in the footsteps of the HTC One XL. In terms of specifications, it features a 4.3in S-LCD2 display, a 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor, and Google's Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, with no mention of an update to Android 4.x Jelly Bean yet.
The HTC One SV also features a 5MP rear-facing camera with a f/2.0 sensor, a 1.6MP front-facing camera, integrated Beats Audio software, 32GB of expandable storage and NFC technology.
Of course, if you buy the phone from Unlocked Mobiles, you'll only be able to take advantage of its 4G connectivity if you pair it with an LTE SIM.
EE offers SIM-only plans priced from £21 a month, which gets you 500MB of monthly data. For 5GB of data each month, you'll have to fork out for a pricey £36 a month SIM-only plan. µ
