UK NEWSPAPER The Times is offering readers a Google Nexus 7 for just £50 when they sign up for its tablet app and a newspaper subscription.
"Subscribe for just £4 a week and read The Times and The Sunday Times wherever and whenever you like," the newspaper said on its website.
"We'll even give you an award-winning tablet - the Nexus 7 by ASUS with 32GB - worth £199 for just £50."
This seems like a great deal for fans of the paywalled newspaper, although not such a great deal for those simply after a cut-price Google Nexus 7.
The Times will offer its subscribers a £50 tablet when they sign up for an 18 month subscription of its Digital Pack, priced at £17.33 per month. This works out at £360 for the package in full, a bit pricier than a standalone Nexus that can be bought from £159.
Alternatively, buyers can opt to pay for the entire thing upfront, which costs £299.
Fans of The Times seem to get a good deal. The subscription offers readers access to a "wealth of content" on both the paper's tablet app and website, and it comes with a Times+ membership thrown in, too. Times+ members can enjoy such things as complimentary film screenings, private views and expert talks. µ
