KOREAN POP SENSATION Psy is a proud man this week as his beguiling Gangnam Style is Youtube's most watched video ever.

The video has spawned a number of copycats, homages and dancefloor embarrassments and continues to win viewers.

How can we explain it best? Well imagine a waiter, dancing like a horse, on a beach, next to a child, then in a sauna, with an explosion and dancing women. Oh you can't? Well, check out the original, if you haven't already.

It had been seen over 800 million times on Youtube, making it the most viewed clip on the website. That is more views than the sneezing panda, more views than the sniffing monkey, more views than salsa dog, Charlie biting a finger, and more views than Justin Bieber.

As we write this we see that it has been seen 824,665,713 times in four months. It's great news for its creator, Psy, and on Saturday morning he expressed his pleasure.

"#GangnamStyle just became the most watched video @YouTube!!" he tweeted.

The song, a sort of electro pop nightmare, has been number one in the UK hit parade and number two in America, proving perhaps that it is more than just a meme.

"Psy's video first spread from South Korea to the rest of the world in early August. It's been a massive hit at a global level unlike anything we've ever seen before," says the Youtube Trends blog. "Each day, 'Gangnam Style' is still being watched between 7 and 10 million times." µ
