UK 4G MOBILE OPERATOR EE released its long awaited SIM-only price plans today, after delaying the tariffs two weeks ago.
Aimed at those who don't want to be tied in to a lengthy 24 month contract, EE's SIM-only plans last for just one year, although those who opt for a two-year contract will get unlimited roaming, minutes and texts for an extra fiver per month.
EE's prices for its SIM-only plans start at £21 a month for 500MB of data, £26 a month for 1GB, £31 a month for 3GB and £36 a month for 5GB. The pricing is the same no matter what phone you already have, be it an Iphone 5, Samsung Galaxy S3 or Nokia Lumia 920.
While that's all well and good, there doesn't seem to be an 8GB data option available on EE's SIM-only plans, which might put off a few potential buyers.
An EE spokesperson said, "We're really pleased to announce our superfast 4G EE SIM-only plans have launched today for customers.
"They are available initially to buy online or over the phone through our customer services team. They will also soon be available in store and we'll confirm a start date very shortly.
"The 12 month plans are £15 per month cheaper than our 24 month plans that include handsets - customers just need to pick their data plan."
Customers can sign up for the SIM-only plans at EE's website from today. µ
