Not as cheap as rival O2

THE HTC WINDOWS PHONE 8X is now available at Three, although the mobile network isn't offering its usual cheap and cheerful pricing.

We were expecting to see the HTC Windows Phone 8X available for free on 24 month price plans at Three, just like it is over at O2, but Three is asking for a payment upfront on all of its two-year tariffs.

Opt for the network's £29 a month contract and you'll have to hand over £59 to get your hands on the phone, or you can pay £30 upfront if you pick Three's more expensive £34 all you can eat price plan. That does get you a lot for your money though, as it provides 500 minutes, 5,000 Three to Three minutes, 5,000 texts and unlimited data.

We think you're getting a much better deal if you buy the HTC Windows Phone 8X on pay as you go with Three, as its been priced at £349.99 when bought with a £10 top-up.

Sylvia Chind, head of Devices at Three said, "The 8X by HTC is packed full of great features and is perfect for streaming HD and enjoying music while on the go. Coupled with The One Plan offering amazing value with All-you-can-eat data it's no surprise that Three carries over 40 [percent] of the UK's data traffic."

Three is selling the HTC Windows Phone 8X handset in both black and blue models. µ
