UK MOBILE OPERATOR Virgin Media announced today that it is offering unlimited data to its pay as you go customers from just a tenner a month.
Looking to take on rival Three, Virgin Media's new price plans called Big Data and Big Talk give customers unlimited allowances for just £10.
The Big Data pay as you go tariff delivers unlimited data, 300 texts plus your £10 airtime, while splashing out 15 quid will also get you unlimited texts, and Virgin Media has assured The INQUIRER that this data allowance is "truly unlimited".
The Big Talk tariff is for old-school phone users, who prefer to make calls rather than surf the web. A £10 top up will get you unlimited UK landline calls and 120 mobile minutes, while £15 will include unlimited texts too.
This moves comes as Virgin Media reports a 100 percent increase in the amount of data consumed by pay as you go customers, which now make up 40 percent of its user base.
Jamie Heywood, director of Mobile at Virgin Media said, "Unlimited data is a must to get the most out of the amazing smartphones available today. People want to be connected wherever they are so we've introduced unlimited data without the ties of a contract.
"Having introduced unbeatable pay-monthly tariffs earlier this year, we're now introducing incredible value pay-as-you-go tariffs too which makes Virgin Media the unbeatable choice for unlimited data, whether you're willing to sign up to a new contract or not."
Virgin Media's new pay as you go tariffs are available now. µ
