FINNISH PHONE MAKER Nokia's flagship Windows Phone 8 handset, the Nokia Lumia 920 is now available to preorder on EE 4G tariffs.
That's courtesy of UK retailer Phones 4U, which has started selling the Nokia Lumia 920 on a number of tariffs with the EE 4G network. Those who are easily offended might want to look away now, though, as the pricing isn't very nice.
The cheapest tariff comes in at £36, but this means you'll have to fork out £140 for the Windows Phone 8 handset, and you'll have to make do with a measly 500MB of internet data. Those who want a much more reasonable 8GB data allowance will have to sign up to a £56 24 month EE contract and will also have to hand over an extra £20 to get their mitts on the phone.
Still, for those with deep pockets who are after a blazing fast mobile web connection, that whopping price tag could be worth it. We tested EE's 4G network and got average download and upload speeds of around 20Mbit/s and 13Mbit/s, respectively.
Earlier today, Nokia's mid-range Windows Phone 8 handset, the Lumia 820 also went up for preorder at Carphone Warehouse. Thankfully it's priced a bit more reasonably than its fancier big brother, as it's available to pick up for free on a £29 tariff. µ
