GADGET MAKER Apple has seen high demand for its fourth generation Ipad as well as the pint-sized Ipad Mini, as the tablet is now showing as sold out in the UK.
Apple's UK store is no longer promising to ship the fourth generation Ipad on 2 November, and is instead pledging that orders placed today will be sent out in one week. It is sold out of all models of the Ipad, including the pricey 64GB model in both black and white.
Announced alongside the Ipad Mini earlier this month, the fourth generation Ipad - which Apple calls the Ipad with Retina display - is essentially an upgraded version of its third generation tablet.
It features an upgraded A6X processor, a HD Facetime camera, improved WiFi performance, support for Apple's Lightning cable and 4G LTE connecitivty. EE has announced that it will be selling the fourth generation Ipad as well as the Ipad Mini on its LTE network next month.
The news comes days after Apple ran out of stock of its Ipad Mini. Ifans were quick to snap up Apple's competitor to Google's Nexus 7 that features a 7.9in screen, an A5 processor, a 5MP rear-facing camera, an HD Facetime camera, support for LTE connectivity and 10 hour battery life. µ
