GAMES DEVELOPER Rockstar will release a version of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City for Android and IOS devices later this year.
The new versions of the classic game follow the ten year anniversary of its release this Sunday, 29 October.
"Grand Theft Auto: Vice City gave players the freedom of a massive open-world in one of the most iconic and vibrant settings ever realised in a game," said Sam Houser, founder of Rockstar Games.
"It was a defining moment in the series and we're delighted to be celebrating its 10th anniversary this year with a stunning, updated version for phones and tablets."
Although the years have been kind to the game Rockstar will release some other things around it, including so far unseen artwork and a brand new trailer. You'll also be able to buy merchandise, naturally.
It was and is a great game, though, and while it was first available for the Playstation 2, this "full experience" is promised on mobile devices.
Rockstar has already released Grand Theft Auto III for mobile devices, on both platforms, and is apparently still working hard on Grand Theft Auto V, or 5.
This week it teased prospective players with some artwork, while screenshots and a trailer are also available. GTA V, it seems, will continue the tradition of expansive and immersive, cinematic gameplay. µ
