I still need the reassurance of a familiar brand before it's a real story - Tony Maddox, CNN senior VP
THE LIVE ACTION TRAILER for Halo 4 has gone live, and it is rather good.
It should be, too. It is produced by David Fincher, who directed Fight Club and The Social Network, and is directed by Tim Miller, who is usually to be found handling effects.
Miller's trailer is a mix of live action and CGI, and shows us a bit of the Master Chief transformation story, manna to Halo fans.
It is called Scanned, and Microsoft offers up a glib description of its content. "Master Chief's mind is violated by a powerful new enemy, who in searching for Chief's weaknesses, finds the source of his strength," it says.
It's a couple of minutes long, or short, and is exciting enough to tide us over until the game is released at the start of November. It should be noted that it does not appear to include any in-game graphics, which could be worrying to some.
The graphics we have seen, and we have played Halo 4, were great though
It has an ESRB rating of Mature, which means it has some guns and blood in it, so be careful watching it in front of children, anyone of a sensitive disposition, and anyone that owns only a Playstation 3.
Halo 4, which of course is unique to the Xbox, will be released on 4 November and takes players right back to the start of the war that they have worked their way through in the previous titles. µ
