MICROSOFT'S PRESIDENT of its Windows division has, for some obscure reason, decided to turn the firm's Surface tablet into a skateboard and prance around on it.
Steven Sinofsky showed off the Surface skateboard in two photos on Twitter. In one he showed the tablet with wheels and trucks in place, and in the other, the Surface skateboard with Windows president in place.
Couldn't resist taking it out for a spin... #surface twitter.com/stevesi/status…

In the latter picture he is wearing a bicycle helmet and jeans and looking precarious. The photo is of a rather poor quality, and Tony Hawk he ain't. It is worth mentioning here that the Ipad has found favour among the hip and the young and the cool. The photo shown here probably won't.
"Couldn't resist taking it out for a spin," Sinofsky said. Well, perhaps he should have. Perhaps this idea, presumably borne out of a desire to show how tough the Surface's screen is, should have been shelved.
Perhaps it would have been wiser to release a video of people throwing beer cans at a Surface, or a clip of a Surface tablet being crushed in a vice, or anything other than this. µ
