BUBBLY MOBILE OPERATOR O2 has revealed that it will be offering the Samsung Ativ S with Windows Phone 8.

Eagle-eyed staff here at The INQUIRER spotted the Samsung Ativ S on O2's coming soon webpage with an imminent November release date. There's no word on the exact release date or pricing yet, but O2 has become the first UK mobile operator to announce its support for the Windows Phone 8 handset.

We do know how much the phone will cost if you want to buy it SIM free, though. Handtec has revealed that the phone will go on sale for around £479.99, cheaper than the Nokia Lumia 920 but more expensive than HTC's debut Windows Phone 8X.

The Samsung Ativ S with Windows Phone 8 does tout some pretty decent specifications, though. The Galaxy styled handset features a 4.8in Super AMOLED HD screen, a 1.5GHz dual-core processor and, of course, the latest version of Microsoft's mobile operating system Windows Phone 8.

O2 earlier this month revealed that it will also be offering the HTC Windows Phone 8X and Windows Phone 8S handsets too, suggesting that it has exclusivity on the blue colour models. µ
