TAIWANESE HARDWARE VENDOR Asus has revealed that it will announce its second tablet and smartphone hybrid, the Asus Padfone 2, on 16 October.
The firm has put up a holding webpage for the combined part-phone, part-tablet device, revealing that it will announce the Padfone 2 in Milan next week.
Unsurprisingly, Asus hasn't announced any further details about the device, but hints that it will sport a slimmer form than the original Padfone, while admitting that it will be powered by Google's Android operating system.
If it's anything like the original Padfone, we can also expect the tablet phone to sport 10in and 4.3in touchscreens, respectively, and that the device will come with an included stylus that also works as a Bluetooth headset.
While we're not ones to speculate we're also guessing that the device will come running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and will have a quad-core CPU and a pretty expensive price tag.
Asus was unavailable for comment at the time of publication. µ
