POCKET GAMES DOMINATOR Rovio is hopping into the Star Wars theme and bringing us a Darth Vader flavoured edition of Angry Birds.

We've seen Angry Birds before, and we have seen Star Wars films, but we've never seen Angry Birds and Star Wars together. Until now.

We haven't actually seen this yet either, just a promise and the suggestion that we hot foot it, or hot wing it, down to Times Square in New York at 10am on 8 October, when we'll see the results.

We are rather far away from there, and even if someone catapulted us in New York's general direction it's unlikely that we'd make it in time. If we had the Millennium Falcon we might be able to get there in "less than twelve parsecs". But we don't, and that is a distance anyway, not a measure of speed, so forget that.

So what can we tell you? Well, it will be out on 8 November and people are going to be excited about it. It presumably will make Rovio and George Lucas some money, and it might be an add-on to Angry Birds Space.

It's possible that it will include Angry Birds with Lightsabers and it might lean rather heavily on Star Wars and bird puns.

So, we might get a Boobie Fett, named after the boobie bird. We might get Princess Layer, because birds lay eggs. We might get a Lark Skywalker, a Dove Vader, the Swift Lord, Flewbacca, Count Cuckoo, an Uncle Owren, the Emperor (Penguin), Obi Wan Canary, or R2birdpoo.

We can wait. We suspect that some people can't though, so we repeat Rovio's suggestion that if you are really keen on finding out what is coming then get down to the Toys R Us store in Times Square for an early start. µ
