UBISOFT has released a trailer for the upcoming Assassin's Creed 3, giving us a good look at the Connor origins story.
Connor is a new character in the game, and a deep one. The trailer gives you an idea of the sort of conflicts that he will go through, and the sort of killing.
Connor, we see, wasn't always angry, and he wasn't always sneaking up on people and swinging an axe into them. Once he was a boy, a boy full of spirit who ran through forests. But some bad people came and whipped that away from him.
"I have known a true freedom," he says in voice over. "I have known a world of peace and remarkable spirit. a world which was taken from me."
Connor's is not the only story here, and as well as his training, killing, running and leaping, gamers also get to enjoy a bit of the American rebels' treason they call the US War of Independence.
This is clearly a large, ambitious game and the approximately three minute trailer makes it look like a lot of bombastic fun. It looks more interesting than its two predecessors, and if it manages to be a better game than those two episodes, gamers are in for a very big treat indeed.
The game goes on sale on 31 October, just in time for Halloween. µ
