THE LARGE Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is now available in the UK, although you'll need deep pockets to afford the phablet.
We spoke to staff at Samsung's flagship store at London's Westfield Stratford City mall where the phone was first put on sale at lunchtime yesterday. They told us that punters canbuy the phone for £549.95 SIM free, making it £20 more expensive than the Iphone 5.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is available on contract from today, as well. Over at Phones 4U, the phone can be purchased on either O2, Orange, T-Mobile or Vodafone, where the handset is available to pick up for free on a £41 a month tariff. This 24 month O2 contract also comes with unlimited texts, unlimited minutes and 1GB of monthly data.
Three also started selling the Galaxy Note 2 today, and is asking an upfront payment of £69 on its £34 Ultimate Internet 500 plan, which gets you 500 minutes, 5,000 texts and unlimited data.
However, the cheapest pricing we've found is over at Tesco. The supermarket giant is offering the Galaxy Note 2 for free on a £36 per month O2 contract, which comes with the same allowances as the more expensive Phones 4U tariff.
