The .xxx domain name has been a controversial issue

DOMAIN NAME REGISTRY ICM Registry has shaken an adult content only search engine off its top shelf and onto the internet.

It says that the search engine will make finding adult entertainment easier, safer, and *cough*, more enjoyable.

Www.Search.xxx, which is available now, is "the easiest way to enjoy free access to porn and only porn on desktop and mobile devices", it explains, hopefully while your mum isn't looking over your shoulder.

ICM is the triple X registry, so if anyone - except that guy that wears that mac - is going to know where to look for adult content then it should. It said that it has access to 240,000 unique .xxx domain names, and that its search engine makes them more organised and more accessible.

"ICM Registry has worked for more than a decade to build .XXX into a globally accepted place for responsible adult online entertainment," said Stuart Lawley, CEO of ICM Registry.

"With a search engine dedicated to helping people find precisely what they want amid millions of pages of content, we're providing an entirely new adult content experience in a safe, privacy protected and trusted environment."

While other search engines might derank this kind of material this one does not, says the firm. What's more it scans webpages for malware on a daily basis, and crawls 21 million of them.

"We are able to offer millions of pages of .XXX content on a platform that is responsible and user friendly," added Lawley.

"This is a safer, responsible environment where users aren't subjected to potentially annoying images and offers that plague some porn portals. The site is also free of pop ups, pop unders and other unwelcome distractions. It's just a better user experience." µ
