HARDWARE VENDOR Asus has revealed that its Transformer Pad Prime and Transformer Pad Infinity tablets will soon receive an update to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
Asus announced the good news on its Facebook page today, although it remained schtum about a release date. However, given Asus' excited Facebook status update, we're assuming it will begin rolling out within the next couple of weeks.
The Taiwanese firm said, "Hooray! We are pleased to announce that we will soon be rolling out the Android 4.1, Jelly Bean update for both the Asus Transformer Pad Infinity (TF700) and Asus Transformer Pad Prime (TF201). Watch this space."
As well as keeping quiet on the update's release date, Asus hasn't yet revealed which Android 4.1 Jelly Bean features will be coming to its tablet/laptop hybrid devices.
However, we're assuming the update will provide the devices with a rejigged user interface, Project Butter for smoother performance, increased integration with the Google Play store, Google Now and an updated web browser.
