THE LARGE SCREENED Samsung Galaxy Note 2 has gone up for preorder on pay monthly tariffs at retailer Phones 4U.

At Phones 4U's online shop, Samsung's Galaxy Note 2 is available to preorder on contracts with O2, Orange and Vodafone. Prices for the 5.5in 'phablet' start from a not very wallet friendly £41 a month, although this does get unlimited minutes, unlimited texts and 1GB of monthly data.

According to Phones 4U, the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 will start shipping on 2 October, which is the first glimpse of a release date we've seen.

If you don't fancy signing up to a lengthy contract, the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is also available to buy SIM free. That's thanks to Clove.co.uk, which is selling the 16GB handset for £550. Clove has yet to announce prices for the higher specification 32GB and 64GB models.

As well as a healthy amount of internal storage and a huge HD screen, Samsung's second generation Galaxy Note features Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, a 1.6GHz quad-core processor, an 8MP rear-facing camera with HD 1080p video, a 1.9MP front-facing camera, a 3,100mAh battery and 4G LTE connectivity.

Once released next week, the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 will also be available to buy through Three.
