Queues form ahead of the Iphone 5 release at 8am tomorrow

THE LONG-AWAITED Iphone 5 will go on sale in the UK at 8am tomorrow, with queues already starting to form in London.

We took a trip down to Apple's flagship store on London's Regent Street, where keen buyers are already camped out on the pavement in anticipation of buying Apple's latest smartphone. However, it seems that there's never an Iphone launch without some comedy, as the queue was met by an angry Iphone 5 protester.

Still, we're pretty sure that those in the queue weren't too bothered, as Apple, along with other retailers such as Carphone Warehouse and network branded stores, will all open their doors early at 8am tomorrow.

Consumers will be able to pick up the Iphone 5 from £529, while the higher specification 32GB and 64GB models will fetch £599 and £699, respectively. While that sounds pretty expensive, the price-tag isn't all that surprising considering the handset's specifications, which include a 4in Retina display, Apple's dual-core A6 processor and an 8MP rear-facing camera.

Alternatively, the Iphone 5 can be picked up from any of the UK's major mobile operators including O2, Orange, T-Mobile, Three and Vodafone. Three has proven to be the cheapest so far, as it's selling the Apple Iphone 5 for £79 on a 24 month £34 contract, complete with 500 minutes, 5,000 texts and unlimited monthly data.
