KOREAN PHONE GIANT Samsung mocked Apple's Iphone 5 in its latest Samsung Galaxy S3 advert, which tears into the rival handset's specifications.

"It doesn't take a genius" is the advert's tagline, followed by a comparison of specifications between the Iphone 5 and the Samsung Galaxy S3. In Samsung's defence the comparison does weigh heavily in its favour, as it trumps the Iphone 5 with its larger 4.8in Super AMOLED HD screen and 2GB of RAM, along with its long list of software features.

There are also some obvious swipes at the new features of the Iphone 5 in the advert, with Samsung describing the phone's "Lightning" connector as "a totally different plug", as well as mocking the handset's lack of expandable storage.

However, we can't help but think that the Korean firm has a case of sour grapes following its $1bn defeat in court, where it was found to infringe multiple Apple patents.

Apple fans clearly agree too, and have been quick to swipe back at Samsung's ads. For example, Samsung's "it doesn't take a genius" ad has already been defaced to read "Don't settle for cheap plastic", and Iphone users have denied Samsung's claims that the Galaxy S3 4.8in touchscreen is better.

Still, we're pretty sure that Apple isn't too bothered by Samsung's latest advertising campaign, as the Iphone 5 has already sold out at its online stores in both the UK and the US, and today we reported that O2 has also sold out of the latest Apple handset. µ
