UK OWNERS of the Iphone 5 won't be able to access the 3D buildings feature in Apple's new Maps application, the gadget designer has revealed.
Apple released a region by region breakdown of its new IOS 6 mobile operating system today, which reveals that Maps' 3D buildings mode will only be available in the USA. However, the list shows that UK buyers will be able to get their mitts on all the other new features in Maps, including Satellite view, Directions, Traffic information and Turn-by-Turn Navigation.
Besides restaurant reviews, UK buyers will also have access to all of Siri's new capabilities. These, showcased at Apple's Iphone 5 launch event in San Francisco yesterday, include Facebook and Twitter integration, restaurant information, local search and movie reviews.
As well as Maps and Siri, IOS 6 also delivers integrated Facebook support, Icloud Tabs in Safari, reworked browser and Mail apps and Apple's new Passbook application.
It's still unclear what features will support older Iphone models, but Apple announced yesterday that IOS 6 will be rolling out to the Iphone 3GS, Iphone 4 and Iphone 4S on 19 September. µ
