A SPECIAL EDITION of the Monopoly board game that celebrates code breaking genius Alan Turing is available for preorder.

The Monopoly release has the backing of Bletchley Park and Google and is being released in the same year that we celebrate the great man's 100th birthday.

As Google reminds us, "He might not be on a £10 note yet, but at least he is on some kind of money, albeit Monopoly money."

The Monopoly Turing Edition uses landmarks and places close to the life of the codebreaker and includes some additional goodies like a copy of a homemade board that he once played and lost on, and some never before seen photos.

Forget your Waterworks and your Kings Cross station then, and say hello to Warrington Crescent, Sherborne School, Kings College and Hut 8.

Each set includes the board as well as an explanation of why the locations have been chosen and as the blurb rather unnecessarily tells us, it would make an excellent gift for the geek or geeks in your life.

Google has paid for the first production run and if you want to preorder one it will set you back £29.99. Worth every penny.

Delivery is expected to start this November. µ
