CRIMSON MOBILE OPERATOR Vodafone announced its 'best value' tariff ever today, offering users unlimited texts, calls and 1GB of data.

Named Vodafone Red, the plan offers users this generous allowance from £29 a month, depending on which phone the tariff is paired with. Data hungry users can double their 3G allowance to 2GB, which will fetch from £34 a month.

Still, while this is impressive, the network has yet to announce a tariff with unlimited data, falling behind rivals T-Mobile and Three. However, users can take advantage of Vodafone Test Drive, which delivers unlimited data for the first three months of your Vodafone contract.

Vodafone CEO Guy Laurence said, "People want to talk for as long as they like to whoever they want, whenever they want, without having to think about things like how many minutes they are using or what's left in their call bundles. That's why we are calling time on call charges.

"We are offering unlimited calls on all the handsets that we sell, making it simple for customers to choose what they want and easy to understand what they are getting. They can just take out their phone and call without any worries."

The Vodafone Red tariff will be available to customers from tomorrow, suspiciously just days ahead of Apple's Iphone 5 launch event, and is available with any handset in Vodafone's smartphone range. µ
