KOREAN PHONE MAKER Samsung is pretty proud of itself today, as it is boasting that it has sold more than 20 million Galaxy S3 smartphones in 100 days.

Speaking on its Samsung Tomorrow blog, albeit in Korean, the firm reveals that the Galaxy S3 is its best-selling smartphone yet. Samsung brags that with 20 million sales notched up in 100 days, the phone has sold three times as fast as its Samsung Galaxy S2 predecessor and at six times the rate of the original Galaxy S.

Samsung's blog also supplies us with regional sales figures, revealing that six million Galaxy S3 devices were sold in Europe, 4.5 million in Asia, four million in North America and 2.5 million in Korea. To be honest we're a bit confused, as that doesn't add up to 20 million, but we've been in touch with Samsung to clear things up.

According to the company, the secret to the phone's popularity is its 4.8in HD Super AMOLED display, which we have to admit is pretty impressive. The Samsung Galaxy S3 also features a nippy quad-core processor, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS), Samsung's Touchwiz user interface, an 8MP rear-facing camera and decent battery life.
