CUPERTINO TECH FIRM Apple has announced that it will launch the Iphone 5 at a US event next week, according to reports.
The invitation tells us all we need to know about next week's event. Featuring the number 12, it confirms that the launch will take place as expected on 12 September, while the sneaky number five drop shadow strongly hints that Apple will launch the Iphone 5.
There's no mention as to when the smartphone will start arriving on shelves, but we've been reliably informed that will be one week later on 21 September.
While Apple has remained typically tight-lipped about what we can expect from its next Iphone, the device is expected to arrive with a larger 4in touchscreen and a faster processor. There's also talk of a smaller dock connector, an improved rear-facing camera and, of course, Apple's IOS 6 mobile operating system.
This is also rumoured to be the first of two launch events from Apple this year, as the firm is expected to hold a seperate soiree in October to launch the mooted Ipad Mini.
Apple's 12 September Iphone 5 launch event will be held at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco at 10am. µ
