INTERNET SEARCH ENGINE Google is making a change to its weirdly popular "I'm feeling lucky" search option and letting people change it depending on their whims and moods.
From now on users will be able to select from different "I'm feeling..." options and will be able to pick things like "I'm feeling hungry", if for example, they are on the lookout for a restaurant in their area.
The "I'm feeling lucky" option has its fans, we don't doubt, and from now on Google reckons that people will get more enjoyment out of it.
It's been explained in a blog post, or rather a Google Plus post from the firm.
"Yesterday, we asked you how you're feeling and by far, the most popular answer was 'hungry'! What does this have to do with Google Search, you ask? We recently added some other emotions to our I'm Feeling Lucky button, like artistic, wonderful, and of course, hungry," it says.
"When you hover over the I'm Feeling Lucky button, it spins to an emotion and clicking on it connects you to a page that reflects that emotion. For instance, I'm Feeling Hungry leads you to a Google results page for restaurants in your area. Bon appetit!"
We aren't getting it here, so it might be something of a staged rollout, either that or it is just aimed at Google.com users in the US for now.
Expect local launches, and local lunches, soon. Maybe. µ
