KOREAN HARDWARE MAKER Samsung has teased us with its "newest Windows 8-ready innovation" in a trailer video that the firm has posted on Youtube.
Named Samsung Notebook: Something smart is coming, the dramatic video hints at a slimline laptop device that looks to be an ultrabook by flashing up eye-blinkingly fast images of it in between shots of fast-moving timing devices such as spinning dials, cogs and clock faces.
Samsung says in the video's caption that "the time is near for the big reveal", leading us to believe that it could perhaps be launched at the IFA consumer electronics tradeshow that will be held in Berlin next week, as this is the next major technology conference on the industry's caldendar.
A glimpse of the device's lid reveals that there is an headphone jack by the top of the screen, hinting that it could feature a detachable display therefore turning it into a tablet, something we think would be similar in design to the Asus Transformer Pad Infinity.
The camera also focuses on what seems to be a stylus tucked away inside the notebook's lid, suggesting that the device might offer more precise touchscreen capabilities, like those of the Galaxy Note 10.1 that Samsung launched last week.
The Youtibe video is the second that Samsung has produced in the buildup for a device to be launched at IFA, after it released a teaser trailer hinting at the rumoured Galaxy Note 2 smartphone last week. µ
