PC PERIPHERALS VENDOR Logitech has announced a completely waterproof keyboard that can be washed to withstand the inevitable drink spills and the build-up of dust and detritus.
Those who have had a hard time in the past trying to clean a keyboard with a toothbrush will be relieved to know that the firm's Washable Keyboard K310 is completely submergible in up to 11in of water to make sure any spilled liquids or crumbs are removed. That is, as long as you don't immerse the USB cable as well.

Logitech said its new batheable accessory has unique drainage holes at the back so it can be washed easily and then dries out quickly. The key characters are also laser printed and coated so the letters don't fade in the wash.
As well as withstanding wet environments, the keys can last up to five million keystrokes so it not only can be kept clean for a long time but will stay in one piece and keep working as well.

As you'd expect, the Logitech K310 keyboard comes with function keys and a number pad, and is compatible with Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7. There are also twelve hot keys for instant access to the internet, e-mail, play, volume and a function so you can open your most-used applications with one key stroke.
Logitech said its new plug-and-play waterproof keyboard is also designed for a "comfortable typing experience with a familiar layout and sleek, thin profile". It will be released in the UK and across Europe in October for £34.99. µ
