HIGH STREET ELECTRONICS STORE Maplin will be selling the Raspberry Pi starter kit from next month.
The kit - including a keyboard, a mouse, the model "B" Raspberry Pi and an SD card bearing the Raspbian Wheezy OS along with some other parts - costs a penny under £70.
For now the Raspberry Pi starter kit is listed as unavailable and out of stock, but the information is that it will be released and available at the end of September.
If you want to pre-order one our advice is to do it quickly because Maplin says that units will be sent out on a first ordered basis.
Also making up the starter kit are an AC powered 4-port USB hub, a USB keyboard, a USB optical mouse, a 2.1A twin USB mains power supply, a 1.5m gold-plated USB A to micro B cable to power the Raspberry Pi, a 1.5m gold-plated HDMI cable and an N150 Nano WiFi dongle for wireless connectivity.
The starter kit can be ordered from Maplin either in-store, online, or by calling 0844 557 6000. µ
