STORAGE VENDOR Adata has released a portable hard drive that has a jigsaw puzzle on the cover.
Adata, obviously having run out of ideas for ways to make its removable hard drives stand out from the crowd, has put a puzzle on the front of its Dashdrive. The firm's Dashdrive HV610 portable hard drive can be had with two different puzzles.
Adata offers the Dashdrive HV610 in 500GB, 750GB and 1TB capacities and connects to the host PC through a USB 3.0 interface. The firm has also put a three-year warranty on the unit, which is commendable since neither Seagate or Western Digital do that for most of their hard drives.
As for Adata's puzzle, the firm said it isn't an actual puzzle that users can spend many enthralling hours assembling but an interlocking pattern. In fact, the puzzle is simply a cover that can be removed to store the USB cable.
Adata listed prices for the Dashdrive HV610 as £50.99, £62.99 and £79.99 for the 500GB, 750GB and 1TB models, respectively.
We assume that the jigsaw puzzles are not part of some rudimentary encryption scheme. µ
