KOREAN PHONE GIANT Samsung has announced that it will launch its second generation phablet, the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 at IFA on 29 August.
A Samsung spokesperson reportedly revealed the news to Reuters, saying, "We plan to unveil the next Galaxy Note at the Samsung Mobile Unpacked event in Berlin on August 29."
Although Samsung has not yet responded to our request for confirmation, The INQUIRER has received an invitation to the launch event, which certainly suggests that the Galaxy Note 2 is coming. The invitation features what looks to be an image of a stylus, one of the main features associated with the Samsung Galaxy Note.
In terms of other specifications, Samsung is remaining tight-lipped. However, speculation suggests that we can expect a larger 5.5in touchscreen, a faster processor than the one in the Samsung Galaxy S3, Google's Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system and Samsung's Touchwiz user interface.
The INQUIRER will be at the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 launch near the end of the month. µ
