MICRO BLOGGING SERVICE Twitter will soon undergo an overhaul that will change the social network "forever".

twitter-bird-logoTwitter engineering manager Pankag Gupta took to the social network to reveal that the web site is about to get its biggest revamp yet in the form of "new search and discovery" features.

Gupta tweeted, "Search & discovery in @twitter set to change forever after tmrw. Team - congrats and enjoy the enormity of ur impact few understand today!"

As users of the social network will know, Twitter has long been due for an upgrade to its onboard search feature, which at present leaves a lot to be desired. it's still unclear exactly how the service is planning to change its "search and discovery" features.

However, if a Business Insider report is anything to go by, Twitter could be about to become a lot more like the social aggregation application Flipboard. While it said it is "unlikely" to acquire the company, the web site claims that Twitter will evolve to look and act a lot more like Flipboard.

The report adds that Twitter plans to roll out its changes on as well as its IOS and Android apps within the next few weeks.

Twitter was unavailable for comment at the time of writing. µ
