THE SAMSUNG GALAXY BEAM can now be pre-ordered on the Orange network ahead of its release on 16 July, UK retailer Carphone Warehouse has revealed.
Announced at Mobile World Congress in February, the Galaxy Beam is one of Samsung's oddest smartphones, housing a 15-lumen projector for "beaming" movies or games onto a blank surface up to 50in wide.

For those who fancy playing a super-sized game of Angry Birds, Carphone Warehouse has started taking pre-orders for the device. Available to order on an Orange contract, prices start from £31 per month, which will get punters a free Galaxy Beam, 400 minutes, unlimited texts and 750MB of data.
However, we can't help but think that's a bit expensive, as the rest of the phone's specifications aren't that impressive. Besides the built-in projector, there's Google's ageing Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system along with a 1GHz dual-core CPU, a 4in WVGA touchscreen and 8GB of internal storage. µ
