UK TELECOM Virgin Media's WiFi service went live at a handful of London Tube stations today, in advance of reaching 80 more stations in time for the Olympics.
Kings Cross and Warren Street are the first two stations to go online and will be followed by Oxford Circus and Green Park stations tomorrow, 8 June and Victoria and Euston on 9 June.
In total, Virgin will be bringing WiFi to 82 London Underground stations before the 2012 Olympics and will switch another 40 online before the end of the year, making the commute to and from work that little bit easier.
Web users will be free to use the WiFi at all 82 stations throughout the Summer, Virgin has promised, saying that passengers just need to connect to the service and register their email address. After the Olympics, the WiFi service will be free to use for customers of Virgin Media and "selected networks", with pay as you go options also available.
