TAIWANESE OUTFIT Acer will launch an Olympic-branded tablet in the UK next month, Carphone Warehouse has revealed.
The device, essentially a reworked version of the original Acer Iconia Tab A510, comes with the Olympic rings engraved on its rear that show it off as "the tablet of the London 2012 Olympic Games". It also comes with a trial period of Eurosport's channels for the duration of the Games, for those not so keen on the BBC's coverage.
As to specifications, the Acer Iconia A510 Olympic Tab will come running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) out of the box and will have a 10.1in IPS touchscreen, a Nvidia 1.3GHz quad-core Tegra 3 processor and a 9800mAh battery. There's also a 5MP camera with HD 720p video, Dolby Mobile 3+ audio with premium 5.1-channel HD output and microSD storage support up to 32GB.
Acer has hinted that this won't be the last of its Olympic themed devices. It said, "The Iconia Tab A510 Olympic Games Edition starts a series of products that Acer designed specially for the Olympic Games in London."
Carphone Warehouse has yet to announce a release date, but Acer told us that it will be available to buy for £349.99 SIM free. µ
