KOREAN PHONE MAKER LG has announced that its latest flagship, the LG Optimus L7 smartphone is now available in the UK.

The handset, which was unwrapped at Mobile World Congress as part of LG's L-Style range and comes with the tag line "it just looks expensive", offers a cheap alternative to the Samsung Galaxy S III and HTC One X.

The LG Optimus L7 features a 4.3in 480x800 IPS touchscreen, a 1GHz dual-core processor and 1GB of RAM. There's also a 5MP main camera with HD 1080p video, a video calling camera, 4GB of internal storage and a 1,700mAh battery.

Dr. Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of LG said, "The L7 is a significant addition to our L-Series portfolio and we are confident that it'll prove highly attractive to users. We expect it to be one of our most popular smartphones."

The LG Optimus L7 is available from Phones4u, which is selling the phone exclusively in white. µ
