FINNISH MOBILE SOFTWARE DEVELOPERS at Rovio have announced that Angry Birds Space has been downloaded 50 million times in 35 days, making it the fast selling mobile game of all time.
"The team is thrilled to see such a fantastic reception for the game," said Rovio. "We extend our deepest gratitude to all fans of Angry Birds everywhere. While numbers like this certainly say something about the popularity of Angry Birds, for us the main goal is to keep creating fun new experiences that everybody can enjoy!"
Angry Birds Space has smashed all previous Angry Birds records, and steals the crown from Draw Something, which hit 50 million downloads in 50 days, as the fastest selling mobile game ever. This no doubt means we'll be seeing an influx of space-themed merchandise from Rovio, as the Finns' continue to cash in on their smash hit game app.
Not one of the 50 million Angry Birds Space players? The app is available to download on Android, IOS, Windows and Mac. It will soon be coming to Windows Phone too. µ
