UK MOBILE NETWORK Vodafone has announced that it will be offering "the new Samsung Galaxy" ahead of the phone's launch on 3 May.
No, this isn't some kind of premature slip-up. We just received an email from the mobile operator saying, "I just wanted to let you know that the next Samsung Galaxy will be coming to Vodafone you can register for updates here: www.vodafone.co.uk/nextgalaxy."
When Samsung talks about "the next Galaxy", it is of course referring to the Galaxy S III. However, we can't help but think that all this talk of a "next Galaxy" hints that Samsung will be taking a tip from Apple's "new Ipad" naming strategy and calling its next flagship handset simply the new Samsung Galaxy.
While the smartphone's name remains a mystery, Amazon has let slip some of the specifications that we can expect. These include a 4.7in Super AMOLED touchscreen, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS), a 12MP camera with autofocus, LED flash and face detection and 16GB of internal storage expandable to 32GB.
The INQUIRER has received its invitation to go and meet the next Galaxy on 3 May, so we'll be on hand for all the updates. µ
