SOFTWARE TESTING OUTFIT Coverity has updated its development testing suite Coverity 6.0 along with its Coverity Connect developer community.

Coverity's testing software is widely used by developers to test code, with the latest version bringing greater support for distributed development teams. The firm's Coverity Connect online community is a social network for Coverity users and the firm's technical personnel, meaning that users don't have to rely on Google alone to help them solve their problems.

Coverity 6.0 brings better support for defect management along with improved analysis and Java performance. Coverity continued on its distributed collaboration theme in Coverity Connect, allowing users to share code through the community and talk directly with its security research team.

Jennifer Johnson, VP of marketing at Coverity said, "Today's development organisation consists of distributed teams across geographic regions. Breaking down silos and sharing information is an imperative given increasingly rapid delivery cycles. With the launch of Coverity Connect and Coverity 6.0, we are continuing our mission to help developers seamlessly adopt development testing into their process. Making it easy for developers to collaborate and share information helps ensure better productivity, faster time to market, and higher quality software delivery."

Coverity said Coverity 6.0 is available now. µ
