UK RETAILER Carphone Warehouse has started taking pre-orders for the HTC One V, the company's lowest priced Beats Audio handset yet.

Running the latest version of Google's operating system (OS), Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, the phone features HTC's new Sense 4.0 user interface that skins its 3.7in WVGA touchscreen. Beats Audio heads up the phone's specifications along with a 1GHz Qualcomm MSM8255 Snapdragon processor, a 5MP camera with HD 720p video and a 1,500mAh battery.
Although Carphone Warehouse can't confirm an exact release date yet, you can pre-order the phone from the retailer with delivery promised by the end of the month. A 24 month £20.50 Orange contract is the cheapest tariff available, which comes with 100 minutes, unlimited texts and a 500MB data allowance.
The HTC One V isn't just HTC's cheapest Beats Audio phone, it's also one of cheapest Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich phones on the market right now. Still, we're not sure it fits in with HTC's 'hero' device strategy. µ
