PUZZLE-GAME Portal 2 has taken three top awards at the Bafta video game awards, giving its publisher Electronic Arts a pretty good night all around.
Valve's Portal 2 won Best Game, Best Story and Best Design, three very good gongs. Games publisher Electronic Arts was also awarded Best Audio Achievement, Best Online Multiplayer, and the players' award, the Game Best Game for Battlefield 3.
This means that it picked up six of the biggest awards with just two of its titles and replaced the incumbent fans' games winner, the Call of Duty series.
Different developers picked up the other titles, and other category winners included Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet, which picked up Best Debut game, Shogun War for Best RPG, Batman: Arkham City for Best Action Game, and Little Big Planet, which won Best Family Game.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skryim, which launched to many plaudits and a very good response, won nothing despite being nominated in five categories including Best RPG, where, if anywhere, it looked very likely to pick something up. µ
