TAIWANESE PHONE MAKER HTC has published the list of mobile devices it will treat to a lick of Google's Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system.
The firm will roll out Android 4.0 to its devices over the next few weeks according to its Global Community Manager, Darren Krape.
"Few innovations have improved upon ice cream as much putting it between two cookies and making a sandwich. Which is why we all want Ice Cream Sandwich! Ok, that's not the real reason, but we're all excited about Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich, coming to HTC," he said in a brief note.
"As for timing, we're in the early stages of rolling out Android 4.0 for the HTC Sensation and HTC Sensation XE and upgrades will be more widely available in the next few weeks". After these, the updates for the HTC Sensation 4G and HTC Sensation XL will follow.
Krape added that these sorts of things are dependent on carriers in each location and couldn't give much more information about local rollouts.
"We are working closely with our carrier partners to nail down update schedules for our other smartphones and will have more to share very soon," he added.
Sixteen handsets are confirmed for the upgrade, and they are, the Droid Incredible 2, the Amaze 4G, Desire S, Desire HD, EVO 3D, EVO Design 4G, HTC Incredible S, Sensation, Sensation XL, Sensation 4G, Sensation XE, Raider, Rezound, Rhyme, Thunderbolt, and Vivid.
As yet there is no word on Grumpy, Sleepy, Dopey, Bashful or Doc. µ
