Google is cooking up some Key Lime Pie

Next Android OS on the menu
Mon Mar 05 2012, 12:43

SOFTWARE DEVELOPER Google is baking and chilling to name the next version of its Android operating system Key Lime Pie.

The news comes from the Verge web site via its sources, but it does have a ring of truth about it since Google does name its operating systems after desserts.

The most recent is Jelly Bean, which follows Ice Cream Sandwich. We have already munched our way through Cupcake, Donut, Eclair, Frozen Yogurt, Gingerbread and Honeycomb, and if you haven't worked it out yet, Google adopts names for Android releases in alphabetical order.

This makes Key Lime Pie as likely as Kaesekuchen, a type of German cheesecake, and Kulich, a Russian sweet-tasting bread treat. Our money remains on Key Lime Pie

The next clue, short of a Google announcement, will be the arrival of a large statue of a key lime pie turning up at Google's headquarters. µ
