SOFTWARE HOUSE Microsoft reportedly is ready to get involved iwth complaints about Google+, its search rival's social networking service.
Reuters has spoken with sources that told it Microsoft is so upset that it is ready to make a formal antitrust complaint, although it has not done so yet.
The complaint will fall among with other European concerns about Google's dominance in search, a business that Microsoft would like to take over. Reuters helpfully suggests that Microsoft's intervention might lead European regulators to extend the reach of their investigations of Google.
Reuters' sources are not named, and none of the parties involved responded in the affirmative to its reporters' requests for confirmation. The sources drew short of actually providing details about the nature of any Microsoft complaint.
Both European Union regulators and the US Federal Trade Commission are looking at Google's search business, cheered on by Microsoft and its allies. µ
