TAIWANESE TABLET MAKER Asus has taken to Facebook to deny claims that it has delayed its Transformer tablet's upgrade to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS).
Reports have popped up this morning saying that the original Transformer TF101 tablet will get its upgrade to ICS in March instead of this month. This is based on a post made by Asus on Facebook.
Asus said on its Singapore Facebook page, "We are informed that the ICS upgrade for TF101 will be ready within the Feb/March 2012 period. You will be able to receive the upgrade notification via FOTA once we have a confirmation date."
However, Asus has confirmed that this infomation doesn't apply to the UK, so the most up-to-date information is that it will still arrive this month here in Blighty.
Asus said on its UK Facebook page, "Regarding the reports of ICS for TF101 being pushed back to March - Asus UK has not received any information confirming this. We will let you know if there is any further, solid developments and when we have a definitive date for the release."
Even though the firm has calmed fears of a delay, it's still worrying that Asus has set no specific date. The update is supposed to tip up by the end of the month but that deadline is fast approaching.
Asus is also delaying a smaller update for its Transformer Prime tablet to fix random reboot problems. That had been promised to tip up earlier this month but now has no projected date due to unnamed issues. µ

I'm all for them getting it done right.
If we have to wait a little longer for them to get the bugs out, then so be it.
After delivering bugs and bugs on a substandard product.
They now clearly demonstrate that they have no clue when they'll be updating it.
Pathetic.
Chris Martin - It may come as a suprise, but with a little bit of research into this, you'd find that Asus have already claimed End of Jan, and then a Mid Feb release. The Feb/March post only came to be because Asus missed both previous release dates, and are not willing to respond to the publics, quite reasonable, requests for more information regarding the release of ICS
