HACKERS ASSOCIATED WITH Anonymous have claimed another scalp, this time a company called Combined Systems.
Among other things, Combined Systems makes tear gas, and the hackers said that they have struck because it is the anniversary of the Bahrain uprising. They claim to have defaced and RM'd it, slang for wiping its web servers.
"So you war profiteering all crazy, selling mad chemical weapons to militaries and cop shops around the world, thinking you will get away unscathed by the rising tides of insurrection? Think again, a**holes," says a Pastebin note that announces the Combined Systems web site attack.
"Combined Systems, lay down your arms: you just lost the game. In the past we have marched on your offices in Jamestown, Pennsylvania: now it is time to march on your websites. All your 'less than lethal' arms were simply no match for our 9000 cocks and mad blackhat technique. We came, we saw, we rooted and rm'd your website. Umad?"
The message, which took over the weapons firm's web site, accuses it of offering "sinister instruments of torture" that have "shot and gassed protesters". "Did you think we forgot? Why did you not expect us?" it asks.
As well as defacing the Combined Systems web site, the hackers also released names, addresses, phone numbers and passwords for its employees, and emails and contacts for law enforcement and other agencies that have ordered its wares.
"Do you think they will appreciate the irony of being owned due to buying 'security' products from a compromised website? How long do you think we had your website backdoored, capturing all incoming customers registrations and orders?" it adds.
"If you ever get your website back up, do you think you will be anything more than a shadow of your former self? Will your clients ever trust you again?"
At time of writing we cannot get the Combined Systems web site to open. µ
Or so says the rumour mill ...
